Martha Sue Hamilton, 80, of Pittsboro departed for rest on June 22, 2019 at Baptist Memorial Oxford. She was born on October 9, 1938 in Calhoun City to the late Wirt Golsen Suggs and Lillian Mae Moore Suggs.
Martha was a hard worker by choice spending an expansive career at the Kellwood Company for Forty Four years. After she retired from Kellwood she honed her pottery making skills, perfected her gardening, and kept the oven warm with delicious meals she prepared.
Martha leaves behind her son Phil (Barbara) Hamilton of Pittsboro; Two daughters, Anna (David) Collums of Pittsboro, Sheryl (Rickey) Collins of Eupora; Two grandsons, Ben ( Beth) Hailey, Brad ( Mary Beth) Allen; Four Step Grandchildren, Dawn Young, Dewayne Collums, Miranda Morris, and Tera Embry; Four Great Grandchildren, Anna Bell Allen, Cash Allen, Hannah Hailey, Nathan Hailey.
She was preceded in death by her husband Leroy Hamilton; Parents ,Wirt Golsen Suggs and Lillian Mae Moore Suggs; One Son, Stephen Matthew Hamilton; Seven Brothers, Bud Suggs, Dick Suggs, Jack Suggs, John Allen Suggs, Pat Suggs, Sam Suggs, and Thomas Suggs; Two Sisters, Tina Mae Lee, and Virginia Ann Suggs.
The family will receive friends on June 24, 2019 from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at Parker Memorial Funeral Home of Bruce. In addition, to the visitation a celebration of Matha’s life will take place on June 25, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. at Parker Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Bro. Vincent Anderson, and Bro. Ben Hailey will lead the celebration. Following the service, burial will take place at New Providence Cemetery Brad Allen, Cash Allen, Ricky Collins, David Collums, Ben Hailey and Nathan Hailey will assist in laying Martha to rest; Honorary Pallbearers will Paul David Hamilton, Jeff Harrelson, Mark Harrelson, Tim Harrelson, David Lee, James Suggs Jr., Jessie Allen Suggs, Junior Suggs, Larry Suggs, Marvin Suggs, Robert Suggs, Tom Suggs, and Tommy Suggs,
