Martha Koonce

Mrs. Martha Lynn Criss Trussell Koonce, 87, of Grenada, passed away Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. She was born June 22, 1926 in Tallahatchie County to George Frank, Sr. and Myrtle Ivy Benoist Criss. She was a member of Enon Baptist Church and a retired employee of Pennaco Hosiery.



Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 26, 2013 at 2 PM at Enon Baptist Church in Grenada with Rev. Jon Haimes officiating. Interment will follow in the Woodlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from Noon until service time Saturday at the church.



Survivors include three daughters, Sue Fly (Fletcher) of Coffeeville, Sallie Carpenter (James Henry) of Grenada and Sherri Riddick (Hank) of Inverness; five grandchildren, Jay Carpenter of Jackson, Lee Crenshaw (Katie) of Charleston, Will Riddick (Erin) of Inverness, Lyndi Rives (Scott) of Ridgeland and Lori Beth Chism (Mallory) of Indianola; seven great-grandchildren, John Clayton Chism, John Thomas Crenshaw, Kathryn Chism, Walker Rives, Graham Riddick, Emily Criss Rives and Benjamin Riddick; three sisters, Betty Hendricks of Alabama, Sandra Johnson and Mary Smith, both of Jackson, TN; three brothers, Frank Criss, Jr., Yuma, TN, William Criss and Mike Criss, both of Jackson, TN; and her two faithful caregivers, Sarah Ratliff and Katherine Day. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Leroy Trussell and Wayne Koonce; a sister, Sarah Willis and a brother, James Criss.
