Martin "Donald" Edwards, beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on January 15, 2026, at the age of 84. He was born on June 13, 1941, in Bruce, Mississippi, to parents Lee and Edna Edwards.
Donald was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army, and after his service, he pursued higher education at Itawamba Community College and the University of Mississippi. For 45 years, he worked as an accountant and comptroller at Genuine Parts Company.
Family meant everything to Donald. He is survived by his son, John (Angela) Edwards of Memphis, TN; daughters, Pamela Lieb of Hernando, MS and Amy (Brad) Rowland of Arlington, TN; nephew, David Stewart of Bruce, MS; brother, Douglas (Dale) Edwards of Southaven, MS; sister, Glenda Edwards of Bruce, MS; special friend, Linda Meek of Hernando, MS and eight cherished grandchildren: Henry Lieb, Emmett Lieb, Jacob Edwards, Tyler Rowland, Allison Edwards, Katelyn Edwards, Audrey Rowland, and Collin Rowland. His grandchildren were the joy of his life, and he loved spending time with them, often sitting in his glider on the porch watching them play.
A lover of gardening and a devoted fan of the Memphis Grizzlies basketball team, Donald also enjoyed making homemade jelly, sweet pickles, and eggs, which he happily shared with friends and family. His giving nature left a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Donald attended Ellard Baptist Church while living in Bruce and attended in Union Avenue Baptist Church during his time in Memphis.
Funeral services will be held on January 20, 2026. A public viewing will take place at Parker Memorial Funeral Home in Bruce from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a service in the chapel at 2:00 PM with Bro. Jeff Williamson officiating. Donald will be laid to rest at Bruce Cemetery following services.
Serving as pallbearers will be Brad Rowland, John Edwards, Henry Lieb, Emmett Lieb, Jacob Edwards, and Tyler Rowland.
Donald Edwards will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for his kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for his family.
Martin was preceded in death by his wife, Anne Spencer Edwards; father, Lee Estil Edwards; mother, Edna Collins Edwards and sisters, Katherine Stewart, Eloise Waters, and Dr. Edna Edwards.
