Mary Ruth Evans

Grenada - Mary Ruth Ramage Evans,, a long-time resident of Grenada, MS,, died Thursday, October 31, 2019 in Mer Rouge, LA.Born April 21, 1925 in Vardaman, MS., Mary Ruth received a Bachelor of Science in English from Delta State College.. She continued her education at Delta State College, from which she received her M.Ed. in Library Science.

Mary Ruth taught high school English at Grenada High School for many years, then took a position as the high school librarian, where she worked until her retirement.

Mary Ruth was proceeded in death by her husband, Bro. Finley Evans, her parents, William Jesse Ramage and Lydia Bell Lee Ramage, her brother Bobby Ray Ramage, , four unborn babies, and her great great niece Katelyn Grace Coulter.

Mary Ruth love her family, good food and socializing, enjoyed going on road trips with friends, working in her yard, and had a wonderful smile that could light up a room.

She is survived by her brother, Tommy Lee Ramage, Sr. (Bettie Kate), her nephews Rick Ramage (Robert Thornberry), Tommy Ramage, Jr. (Mary Ann), Danny Roberts, Steve Roberts, her nieces Suzy Clark (LO.), Robin Parker (Larry), great nieces Christy Harris (Mike), Anna Cobb, Abbie Ramage, Jennifer Jenkins (Jared), Emily Wilson (Jeff), Great Nephews Jeremy Parker (Suzanne), Zack Parker (Ashley), Micah Parker and great great nephews Blake Cobb, Dean Cobb, Joshua Parker, Luke Rall, great great nieces, Sara Grace Parker, Caroline Parker, Natalie Parker and her special friend who lived with her for 20 years and was her caregiver, Mary Ellen Sanders. She is also survived by her precious fur baby, Fred. Each and every one fore mentioned brought great joy to her life, as well as her to them. She will be truly missed by all her family, friends, and teachers she worked with.

A funeral service honoring Mary Ruth's life will be held on Sunday November 3, 2019 at 2:30 pm in Grenada First Baptist Church with Bro. Mike Ramage and Bro. John Boler officiating. Visitation wil be held one hour prior to the service at Grenada First Baptist Church. Burial will be at Hillcrest Cemetery Vardaman, MS.
