Mary Jo Harrison Raley

Mary Jo Raley, of Bruce, MS. passed away on August 20, 2025, in North Mississippi Medical Center of Tupelo at the age of 82. Born on January 7, 1943, in Banner, Mississippi, Mary Jo spent her life embodying the values of love, faith, and encouragement.

A devoted member of Drivers Flat Baptist Church, Mary Jo found solace and strength in her faith, spending countless hours reading her Bible and reflecting on its teachings. She was known for her kind heart, often taking the time to write positive notes of encouragement that she would mail to friends and loved ones, inspiring many with her thoughtful words.

Mary Jo is survived by her daughter, Suzette (Bob) Kitchen of Plantersville, MS; her sons, Barry Raley of Oxford, MS and Tony Raley of Banner, MS; her sister, Myra (David) Randall of Zephyrhills FL; her nephews, John Randall and Darren Raley; her nieces, Christy (Patrick) Bell and Cathy Russell; and her sisters-in-law, Barbara Grant and Catherine Raley. Each of them carries cherished memories of her unwavering support and loving spirit.

Mary Jo was preceded in death by her father, Horace Harrison, mother, Christine Marie Moorehead Harrison, sister, Lillie Clarice Harrison, and the father of her children Edward "Buck" Raley.

As we reflect on the beautiful life Mary Jo led, we invite all who knew and loved her to attend her funeral service, which will be held on August 23, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Drivers Flat Baptist Church with Doug Orlando officiating. A public viewing will take place before the service, starting at 12:00 PM. Following the service, she will be laid to rest in Drivers Flat Cemetery.

Mary Jo will be deeply missed but forever cherished in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
