Mrs. Mary Frances Long, 95, of Calhoun City walked through the gates of Heaven on June 2, 2019 at her daughter’s home. Mary was born in Sabougla on September 27, 1923 to the late Joe Ramage and Willie Bell Alexander Ramage

Mary Frances was a dedicated and faithful employee to Kellwood before her retirement. Upon retirement Mary Frances dedicated her love and affection into caring for many children as a babysitter. She adored the Lord’s creations both great and small. She was an avid birdwatcher, especially in the springtime when all of the new creations take flight and fill the days with a song. Mary also enjoyed more labor intensive hobbies such as setting a straight stitch on an elaborate quilt, and breaking ground for a breathtaking garden.

Mary Frances is survived by One son, Larry Roel Long (Jo Ann) of Vardaman; One daughter, Regina Long Lee (Pete) of Derma; Eight Grandchildren, John Ross Burgess, Pam Crum, Joseph Lee, Anthony Long, Cayla Parker, Dameka Parkerson, Lori Parker, and Paula Ann Stewart; Four Great Grandchildren, Allie Clark, Dustin Crum (Jennie), Alyssa Long, and Aubry Long; Three Great Grandchild, Ava Grace Crum, Abby Parkerson, and Clayton Parkerson

She was preceded in death by her husband Roel “Buck” Long, her daughter Mary Bell Parker, her great grandson Chase Collins, her  sisters, Annie Mitchell, Alene Bowles, Pauline Ellis, Lavenia Dye Hollis, Vannie Ramage, and her brothers, Frank Ramage, Jim Ramage and Howard Ramage..

The family will receive friends on Tuesday June 4 , 2019 from 2:00P.M - 4:00P.M at New Liberty Baptist Church. In addition to the visitation a funeral service honoring Mary’s life will be held on Tuesday June 4, 2019 beginning 4:00 P.M at New Liberty Baptist Church. Bro.Jimmy Vance will be leading the funeral service with assistance from Bro.Robert Earl Alexander. Upon conclusion of the service Mrs.Long will be laid to rest in the New Liberty Cemetery; John Ross Burgess, Dustin Crum, Joseph Cody Lee, Anthony Long, Aubrey Long, Edward Long will serve as pallbearers.
