Melinda Morris Turner

Melinda Joy Morris Turner, 59, passed away on August 3, 2024, at her home in Bruce, MS. Melinda was born on June 11, 1965, to Jimmy Wayne Morris and Frances Tutor Morris.

Melinda was a member of Faith Baptist Church.  She spent many years as a factory worker in the sewing department and had also worked in the meat department of Joe's Market. She was a member of the Bruce Chamber of Commerce and had served on the Sawmill Festival Committee.   She has served as treasurer of the Bruce Band Boosters.  When not working or serving her community Melinda liked to read, watch HGTV, and watch hummingbirds from her porch.  She traveled to many band competitions and most importantly spent time with her children and grandchildren.

Melinda is survived by her mother Frances Morris, of Bruce, MS; daughters: Kayla (Michael) Howell, of Bruce, MS; Mikala (Brandon Bowling) Turner, of Bruce, MS; and Brittney Turner, of Bruce, MS; sons: Brandon (Krystye) Golden, of Bruce, MS and JR (Erica) Turner, of Bruce, MS; sister Ann (Jason) Dye, of Pittsboro, MS; grandchildren: Aiden Howell, Kaci Howell, Loreli Carson, and a grandchild on the way.

She is preceded in death by her husband Lynn Turner; her father Jimmy Morris; grandparents E. C. and Lorene Morris; grandparents Mitchell and Vernice Tutor; aunts Barbara Swanson and Brenda Person.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 4, 2024, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Parker Memorial Funeral Home in Bruce.  A funeral service will be Monday, August 5, 2024, at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Parker Memorial Funeral Home in Bruce with Bro. James Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Memorial Gardens.  Serving as pallbearers are: Kendall Chrestman, Jason Dye, Kane Dye, Kyle Dye, Aiden Howell, Brad Logan, and Benny Joe Parker. Honorary pallbearers are Brian Gross and Jerry Moore.
