Melissa Carol Collins, 58, passed away Sunday, April 6, 2025, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo after a brief illness. She was born April 16, 1966, in Van Vleet, Mississippi to the late parents of H.G. Meadows and Mary Dunn Meadows.
Melissa was a homemaker and had previously worked at Delta Furniture Factory as a sewing machine operator. She had trusted the Lord in her youth and was a member of Bentley Baptist Church. Melissa’s pride and joy was her grandchildren and family. She enjoyed thrift shopping and looking for that special buy or that something different to purchase and add to her collection of treasures.
She was preceded in death by her parents, H.G. Meadows and Mary Dunn Meadows, and brother’s, Bobby Meadows and Billy Ray Meadows.
Those left to cherish her memory are her special son, Jacob (Krysten) Collins of Houston and her brothers, Wayne Meadows of Bruce, Michael Meadows of Tupelo, Edward Meadows of Calhoun City and two grandchildren, Marleigh Collins and Lynden Moore.
Visitation for Melissa will be Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at Parker Memorial Funeral Home from 12:00P.M. until 2:00P.M. Also, a funeral honoring Melissa’s life will follow at 2:00P.M. in the Chapel at the funeral home with Bro. Robert Earl Alexander officiating. Pallbearers will be Athen Collins, Scott Mailahn and Jonathan Stricklin.
