Michael Wayne Quarles, 63, passed away on February 10, 2024, at the VA Medical Center in Jackson, MS.
Michael was born on March 24, 1960, in Houston, MS to the late Wayne and Wanda Gill Quarles.
He was a Veteran of the US Army. Michael worked on oil rigs, was a tugboat operator and could also be found doing various carpentry and maintenance jobs. He also loved woodworking, tinkering with vehicles, and was a football fan. He was of the Baptist faith.
Michael is survived by sons: Michael Quarles of Vista, CA, and Joey Quarles of Las Vegas, NV; stepsons: Greg Watkins of Philadelphia, MS, and Billy (Dawn) Watkins of Newton, MS; stepdaughters: Jennifer (Bryan) Baldwin of Hattiesburg, MS and Crystal (Glenn) Collins of Philadelphia, MS; grandchildren: Kattie Granger, Kimberly Smith, Abby Watkins, Jacob Watkins, Emma Baldwin, Bryce Baldwin, Alyssa Baldwin, Sophia Baldwin, Abbi Phelps, Laney Baldwin, Coleman Walker, and Shanna Reynolds; 7 great-grandchildren; sisters: Lana (Sam) Makamson of Greenwood, MS, Charlotte Hodges of Philadelphia, MS, and Wanda Pierce of Oxford, MS,
Michael is preceded in death by his parents Wayne and Wanda Quarles and his wife Donna Lagunas Quarles.
Visitation for Michael will be Saturday, February 17, 2024, from 10:00 AM until service time at 11:00 AM at Parker Memorial Funeral Home in Bruce. The funeral service will be at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Parker Memorial Funeral Home in Bruce with Bro. Will Turner officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Moriah Cemetery with Military Honors. Serving as pallbearers will be: Patrick Bauer, Caleb Lester, Keith Lester, William McCaleb, Lance Norwood, Dobbie Poynor, Dustin Wait, and Oliver Wait.
