Mike Mitchell

Mr. Mike Mitchell, 76, went home to glory on July 19, 2019 with is family by his side after an extended illness. He was born on September 6, 1942 to the late Roy and Micky Roberts Mitchell. Mike loved Jesus and accepted the gift of eternal salvation, which showed   by his worship and devotion at First Baptist Church of Vardaman.

Mike was a skilled tradesman his whole life who owned and operated a heavy construction company. Upon retiring from his company he focused on loving his wife Elizabeth as he did for 57 years. Mike was was a giver at heart,and blessed numerous people without wanting recognition. He further enjoyed spending time with his beloved pets Dak, Sally, and Little Bit, and cheering on the Mississippi State Bulldogs.

Mike leaves behind his loving family to carry his memory, his precious wife; Elizabeth Hardin Mitchell; One son, Jody (Glenda) Roberts of Tupelo; Two daughters, Amy (Kim) Chrestman of Water Valley, and Hope (Tammy Green) Mitchell of Germantown, Tennessee; Two sisters, Margret Ann Walls and Martha Gail Browning; Three grandchildren, Anna (Josh) Creekmore, Elizabeth (David) Mejia, and Jared (Emily) Roberts.

The family will receive friends on July 20, 2019 from 5:00P P.M- 8:00 P.M at Parker Memorial Funeral Home in Vardaman. In Addition to the visitation a funeral service honoring the life of Mr. Mitchell will be held on July 21, 2019 at  First Baptist Church of Vardaman beginning at 2:00 P.M .Bro.Al Gaspard , Bro. Jared Roberts ,and Bro. Johnathan Peeples will be leading the funeral service. Mr.Mitchell will be laid to rest in the serene Midway Cemetery;Chris Walls, Ernie Gordon, Ethan Parker ,Keith Haire, Larry Baker, Mitchell Gordon, Scott Hardin, Tim Broyles will serve the family as pallbearers.Parker Memorial Funeral Home of Bruce and Vardaman is honored to serve the Mitchell family in helping make arrangements remembering Mike’s life.
