Mildred Irene Pettit

Mildred Irene Pettit, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on November 3, 2026, at the age of 95 at Baptist Memorial Hospital Oxford, MS. . Born in Calhoun County, MS on June 11, 1931, Mildred dedicated her life to her family, serving as a nurturing homemaker who created a loving atmosphere for all who entered her home.

Mildred was known for her kind heart and willingness to help anyone in need. Her selflessness and compassion were hallmarks of her character, leaving a lasting impact on those fortunate enough to know her. Family was central to her life, and she cherished every moment spent with her daughter, Jackie (Ronny) Joyner of Batesville, MS , and her grandchildren, Kailee (Pablo) Flores, and Dale Rawson. She took immense joy in her role as a great-grandmother to Estella Ferguson, Andrew Moran, Wesley Flores, and Charlie Rawson.

Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, Wesley Pettit, her father, Hollis Carr, her mother Ola Mae Holloway Carr, two brothers, Eulis Junior Carr, and Kenneth Wayne Carr.

A public visitation will be held at Parker Memorial Funeral Home in Bruce on November 6, 2026, at 1:00 PM, allowing friends and loved ones to pay their respects and celebrate Mildred's remarkable life. Following the visitation, a funeral service will take place in the Parker Memorial Funeral Home Chapel at 3:00 PM wi Dr. Paul Middleton officiating. Mildred will be laid to rest following the service at Mt. Moriah Cemetery.

Mildred Irene Pettit leaves behind a legacy of love, warmth, and generosity that will be remembered and cherished by her family and the community. She will be greatly missed but will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched throughout her life.
