Myra Jo Turner

Bruce, MS-Myra Jo Turner, 80, passed away Monday October 2, 2017 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Bruce, January 27, 1937 to the late parents of Alvin Wilson Blount and Aneeda Marie Hasting Blount. Myra Jo was a cosmetologist and owner of Milady Beauty Shop for over fifty years. She was a member Bruce First Baptist Church. Myra Jo loved life and the outdoors where her passion was fishing and relaxing with nature. She had the ability to make everyone laugh and smile, being a joke or just greeting with a hello.

Survivors include her devoted husband and the love of her life for over sixty three years, James Delaine Turner, Bruce, MS; a daughter, Aneeda  Russell “Ricky”, Bruce, MS; a son, Jimmy Turner, Bruce, MS; two sisters, Pat McDonald, Bruce, MS and Lynn Wooldridge, Tupelo, MS; two brothers, Alvin Blount, Jr., Bruce, MS, and Gene Blount, Tupelo, MS; four grandchildren, Jeremy C. Brown “Daraka”, Andy Turner, Matthew Turner and Joseph Turner, four great grandchildren, Conner Brown, Cohen Brown, Canyon Brown, and Brayden Turner.

Visitation will be Wednesday,   October 4, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Parker Memorial Funeral Home. Her funeral service will be held Thursday, October 5, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home Chapel with Bro. Darrell Logan officiating with burial to be in Bruce Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Austin Bullard, Terry Cain, Tony Cain, John John Campbell, Craig McCormick, Lynn McCormick, Jerry  Turner and Steve Turner. Honorary pallbearers will be Jeff Cook, James May, David Neal, Brooks Nix, Terry  Leachman, Jerry Snellings and Larry Snellings.
