Naomi Ramage Elder, 94, passed this earthly life Wednesday, April 14, 2021, at Bruce Community Living Center after a lengthy illness. She was born on January 16, 1927, to the late Joseph Sire Ramage and Willie Belle Alexander Ramage.
Naomi began her nursing career in Houston, MS where she obtained her nursing license. She later pursued her nurse anesthetist degree at Charity Hospital in New Orleans, LA. Naomi was a certified Nurse Anesthetist. She worked in hospitals across multiple states and north Mississippi. She last worked in Batesville, MS at the hospital surgical department before her retirement.
She was a member of Batesville First Baptist Church where she worshiped her Lord and Savior. Naomi had a heart for helping; she cared for others especially her neighbors and any needs that arose in the community where she happened to be living. Naomi especially loved fishing and taking care of her extended family, her dogs.
She was preceded in death by her parents Joseph Sire and Willie Belle Alexander Ramage; sisters: Annie Mitchell, Lavenia Dye, Vannie Ramage, Alene Bowles, Pauline Ellis, and Mary Long; and brothers: Lee Ramage, Jim Ramage, Frank Ramage, and Howard Ramage.
She is survived by a sister Jean Pendergrast of Derma, MS and a host of nieces and nephews to honor her memory.
Visitation will be Saturday, April 17, 2021, at Parker Memorial Funeral Home in Bruce from 1:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M. The funeral service will be Saturday, April 17, 2021, at 3:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Robert Earl Alexander officiating. Burial will be in New Liberty Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Joe Dye, Paul Edmondson, Brandon Lofton, Erick Lofton, Frankie Lofton, JD Long, Larry Long, and David Mitchell. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Everette and Phillip Morgan.
