Nellie Jack (Jackie) Dye Bush passed away on July 2, 2025. She was the daughter of Shelby Turner Dye and Lavenia Ramage Dye Hollis. She was born on December 7, 1939 in Calhoun County. On July 7, 1956, she married the love of her life, Charles William Bush. He died April 1, 2000. Together they had two daughters, Pam and Judy.

At the young age of 18, Jackie started to work at Kellwood in Calhoun City and worked there for many years until it closed. She was a member of the Vardaman Eastern Star and the last worthy matron of that chapter. As a girl she put her faith in her Lord and Savior Jesus. She was a member of New Liberty Baptist Church in Vardaman, Jackie loved singing the beautiful music and attending the worship services with her church family, until she was no longer able. Jackie was blessed to see five generations of her family. They loved her and she dearly loved them.
Jackie was preceded in death by her husband, parents, nephew Joe Douglas Dye, and pet fur baby "Lucky." She is survived by her daughters; Pam (Donnie Paul) Cain and Judy (Ronnie) Morgan, grandsons; Bobby (Rose) Chrestman, Randy (Kelly) Chrestman, and Stephen (Haley) Morgan; great-grandchildren; Ashley Crowley, Stephanie (Aaron) Dauzat, Taylor (Miranda) Chrestman, Payten Chrestman, Colin (Taylor) Chrestman, Laken (Andrew) Hamilton, Jacey (Dalton) Stokes, Caleb Morgan, and Jacob Morgan; great-great grandchildren; Addilynn Dauzat, Mason Dauzat, Ryker Stokes, Coy Stokes, and Kaizer Haze Chrestman. Jackie's only sibling is her brother, Shelby Joe Dye. Her last surviving aunt is Jean Pendergrast.

Serving as pallbearers are her grandsons, Bobby Chrestman, Randy Chrestman, and Stephen Morgan, also her great-grandsons, Payten Chrestman, Colin Chrestman, Taylor Chrestman, and Aaron Dauzat. Honorary pallbearers are her nephews Mark Dye and Kerry Dye.
Thank you to her caregiver Diane Vance for helping us to keep mother in her own home for a while longer. We will always remember your kindness for our mother. We thank Parker Memorial Funeral Home for their comfort and professionalism during the lose our loved one. A special heartfelt thanks goes to Fern Brooke home and staff of Angels who provided tender loving care for our mom and granny. We also sincerely thank Jesse James who took care of our mother as a daughter would care for her own mother.


Jackie’s legacy is one of love, resilience, and deep-rooted family values. A family viewing will be held at Parker Memorial Funeral Home in Vardaman, MS from 11:00 AM - 12:30 PM. The Family will recieve friends for a public viewing to honor her memory at New Liberty Baptist Church on July 6, 2025, from 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM with Bro. Pete Gregory, Bro. Jeff Harmon officiating, along with her cousins; Donald Pendergrast and James David Long providing music. Jackie will be laid to rest at New Liberty Cemetery.
