Banner, MS – Nina Faye Peeples Murphree, 81, passed away Thursday, May 3, 2018, surrounded by her loving family. She was born, December 9, 1936, in Bruce to the late parents of Edward Miles Peeples and Nina Bell Head Peeples. She was a devoted member of Banner Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School class for several years. Nina Faye served for over 28 years as a teacher assistant, at Bruce Elementary School, before retiring in 1994. She loved life and especially her family, she was a true homemaker, where she enjoyed her flowers and gardening, providing food for her family and friends to enjoy.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Alan David Murphree, and a grandson, Miles Murphree Barnes.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Wilburn Ray Murphree “Tiny”, Banner; daughter, Jennifer Wilburn (James), Oxford; Sons, Edward Ray Murphree (Jeri Lynn), Oxford, Curtis Richard Murphree (Pam), Oxford; sisters Cathryn Stone, Banner, Ann Cofer, (Bill), Water Valley; Seven grandchildren, Justin Murphree, Brittany Murphree, Barnes (Turner), Hunter Murphree, John Murphree, Eli Murphree, Michaele Hooper (Bobby), Travis Wilburn, and two great grandchildren, Walter T. Barnes and Parker Curtis Murphree.
Visitation and funeral services will be Saturday, May 5, 2018 at Parker Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be 12:00 p.m. till service time at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Bro. Rex Ard and Bro. Greg Bray will be officiating. Burial will be in Providence Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Eli Murphree, Hunter Murphree, John Murphree, Justin Murphree, Sammy Pulliam and Travis Wilburn. Honorary pallbearers will be Turner Barnes, Bill Cofer, Bobby Hooper, Allen Stone and Sammy Wilburn.
