Calhoun City, MS – Ouida Mae Baker Marshall, 88, passed this earthly life surrounded by her loving family, Sunday, October 7, 2018 at N.MS.M. C., Tupelo after a brief illness. She was born June 21, 1930 in Calhoun City to the late parents of William Baker and Elsie Mae Nichols Baker. She was a devoted homemaker and a member of Midway Baptist Church. Ouida’s passion was cooking for her family, friends and scrapbooking. Her cakes and deserts will always be remembered by everyone especially her caramel cakes. She had the touch of the master’s hand when she made caramel cakes.
She was preceded in death by her parents, the man she loved her husband, Willie Elton Marshall, daughters, Willie Mae Savage, Donna Sue Parker, sisters, Margaret Simmons, Bonnie Rodgers, brothers, James Baker, Buddy Baker and Wilmer Baker.
Those left to cherish her memory are a daughter, Shirley Holloway, Derma; son, David Elton (Wanda) Marshall, Vardaman; brother, Charlie Baker, Calhoun City; grandchildren, Kodie Parker, Mike Harris, Tony Harris, Brenda Nicole Marshall, Tina West, Gina Vernon, Robert Bishop; step grandchildren, Michelle Griffin, Stacy Rodgers, Jennifer Frizzell; great grandchildren, Austin Harris, Ashley Harris, Emma Diane Cook, Casey Armstrong, Katlyn Nabors, Andrew Nabors, Kemper Cook, Erica White; step great grandchildren, Macey Frizzell, Cary-Onna Frizzell, Alex Livingston, Makala Rodgers, Eric Griffin, Lane Griffin, Tori West, Blaine West, Drake Parker and 2 great great grandchildren. A host of nieces and nephews are left remember Aunt Ouida.
Visitation will be Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at Parker Memorial Funeral Home in Vardaman from 11:00 a.m. till service time at 1:00 p.m. with Bro. Don Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Austin Harris, Mike Harris, Rickey Parker, William Lee Rodgers, Kenny Scott and Harvey Wright. Honorary pallbearers will be Eric Griffin, Tony Hood, Michael Kendall and Phil Lucius.
