Patsy Ann Sharp, 80, died January 26, 2019 at Yalobusha County Nursing Home. She was born February 3, 1938 to the late Charlie and Lillie Bell Sharp.
MS Sharp was born and raised at the family home place in Potlocna Community in Lafayette County, MS. She spent all her life there surrounded by her family and friends. Patsy graduated from Yocona High School in 1957. She went on to work at Big Yank Corporation and Holley Carburetor until she became disabled.
Patsy was a huge fan of Ole Miss Football and Baseball. She never missed a game making sure there was a TV or radio available at game time. During her earlier years she was a pitcher for Chambers and Yocona Softball teams. Her nieces and nephews will always remember her for being an avid grocery shopper, enjoying Saturday mornings spending many hours always looking for the best deal. Patsy enjoyed spending time with her family and drinking endless cups of coffee. She was known as the mother hen to all her family. Where there was a need she was always there ready for help. MS Sharp spent the last few months of her life at the Yalobusha Nursing Home. She loved all the nurses and caregivers dearly. She will be deeply missed by all her family and friends.
MS Patsy Sharp is survived by two brothers, Barney “Nub” (Annie) Sharp, Oxford, MS. and Travis (Patsy Lee) Sharp of Water Valley, MS; three sisters, Wanda Lambert, Martha Crocker and Jackie Sharp all of Water Valley, MS. Although MS Sharp never married and had no children of her own she held her nieces Tammy (Jim) Tierney, Karen (Ron) Wallace, Amanda (Brice) Poynor, and her nephews Ronnie (Lorraine) Stark, Troy (Jo) Stark, Jr., James (Melody) Sharp, Scott and Barry Sharp close to her heart as her own.
Along with her parents, Patsy was preceded in death by one sister, Betty Stark and a niece Lisa Melton.
Visitation will be Wednesday, January 30, 2019 from 11:00 A.M. until service time at 1:00 P.M.at Parker Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Bruce. Bro. David Freeman will be officiating in the service. Burial will follow in Webb Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Gary Bratton, Lee Crocker, Ronnie Stark, Jonathon Stark, James “Jabo” Sharp, and Tyler Sharp. Honorary pallbearers will be Barry Sharp, Scott Sharp and Jim Tierney.
