Paul Russell

Paul Russell, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, who left us on December 23, 2025, at the age of 70. Born on July 18, 1955, in Vardaman, Mississippi, Paul spent his life spreading joy and laughter to all who knew him.

Paul was a self-employed individual who took pride in his work and was known for his engaging personality. He loved to entertain, often inviting family and friends to enjoy gatherings on the back porch after cooking delicious meals for them. He had a passion for gardening and fishing, frequently sharing stories and good-natured teasing with loved ones. His playful spirit and knack for aggravating those closest to him will be fondly remembered.

A member of the Bentley Baptist Church, Paul also attended Chickenbone Baptist Church. He was a man of many interests, Paul loved collecting coins and old books, and he enjoyed take pictures.

Paul is survived by his loving wife, Debbie Sheffield Russell of Calhoun City, MS; his daughter, Hassie (Will) Weldon of Bruce, MS; his sons, Jacob Paul Russell of Calhoun City, MS and Brad (Amanda) Walls of Southaven, MS; his sisters, Caffie Jo Wilson of Calhoun City, MS and Peggy Hicks of Huntsville, AL; and his brother, Buster Russell of Calhoun City, MS. He leaves behind numerous cherished grandchildren, including Logan (Taylor) McAlester, Analeese (Hunter) Hancock, Brody Peacock, Ellyssa Beason, Conner Russell, Major Weldon, and River Weldon.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the public viewing at Parker Memorial Funeral Home in Bruce on December 26, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A funeral service honoring Paul's life will be held the following day, December 27, 2025, at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Parker Memorial Funeral Home with Bro. Will Turner officiating. Following the service, Paul will be laid to rest at Bethlehem Cemetery in Calhoun City, Mississippi. Serving as pallbearers are Jacob Paul Russell, Dave Gable, Phillip Wilson, Merle Russell, Roger Turner, and JR Lollar. Honorary pallbeaers are Barney Wade, Marty Thaggard, Toxie Russell, and Horance (PeeWee) Henley Jr.

Paul was preceded in death by his father, Merril Thaddius (Bus) Russell; mother, Virgie Pearl Russell; sister, Sue Russell; and brothers, Charlie Russell, John Russell, and Phillip Russell.
