Penny Baughman Nelson, 67, of Bruce departed from this life on Friday, July 29, 2022, at her home in Bruce, MS. She was born on March 16, 1955, in Blytheville, AR, to the late William Lamar Baughman and Mary Louise Tutor Baughman.
Penny spent many seasons of life as an Insurance Agent until her retirement. In her spare time, she could be found in her kitchen cooking for her family or going to the Dixie Regional Library always checking out a book to read. Penny also enjoyed camping, shopping, and visiting relatives in Blytheville, AR. She was a member of the Bruce Fine Arts club always seeking after the needs of others. Penny was an active member of Bruce First Baptist Church where she served in many different roles. Although she has departed from our lives, her treasured memory will hold a special place in the hearts of her family and friends.
She leaves behind a loving family to continue walking down the path of life in her absence: two sons Mark (Dixie) Nelson of Bruce, MS and Buddy (Jennifer) Nelson of Bruce, MS; six grandchildren: Hillary (Ethan) Burke, Lane Nelson, Jake (Camryn) Nelson, Summer Nelson, Aubrey Nelson, and Patton Nelson. She also leaves behind eight great-grandchildren.
Penny is preceded in death by her husband of 45 years Steve Nelson; parents William Lamar Baughman and Mary Louise Tutor Baughman; two sisters: Beth Bynum and Linda Louise Baughman; and brother Rodney Baughman.
The family will receive friends on Monday, August 01, 2022, from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM at Parker Memorial Funeral Home in Bruce. The funeral service celebrating her life will take place on Monday, August 01, 2022, at 4:00 PM in the chapel of Parker Memorial in Bruce with Bro. Darrell Logan and Bro. Chad Logan officiating. Chad Austin, Allen Blackwelder, Michael Cook, Chad Logan, Trent Long, and Larry Moore will carry Penny to rest in Memory Memorial Garden.
