Listen to Obituary

Randy Gene McKinney, departed from this life on March 18, 2025, at the age of 69. Randy was born in Vardaman, Mississippi, and resided in Houston, Mississippi, where he lived a life enriched by his passions and the love of his family.

A skilled brick mason by trade, Randy dedicated many years to his work and also spent time at the local sawmill, earning the respect of colleagues and friends alike. His hands, which crafted sturdy structures, held a gentle affection for animals and the world around him. Randy found joy in the simple pleasures of life, from the pages of a good book to the wagging tails of dogs that filled his home with love.

Randy's spirit will live on through his son, Brad McKinney, and his cherished grandchildren, Tori and Ben McKinney, who carry forward the values and lessons he imparted. As we reflect on his life, we remember a man whose heart was as strong as the bricks he laid, a man whose laughter and kindness touched all who knew him.

Randy was preceded in death by his father, Edd McKinney; his mother, Ellie Louise Hellums McKinney, and brothers Dean McKinney and Ray McKinney.

A private memorial service will take place at a later date.

In this time of mourning, we find solace in the memories of Randy McKinney, a man who showed us the value of hard work, love, and the lifelong joy of companionship. His legacy will remain woven into the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.

Parker Memorial Funeral Home is honored to serve the McKinney family during this difficult time.
