Raymie Benton Griffin

Raymie Benton  Griffin, 71, passed away Friday, November 22, 2024 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Jackson, Mississippi after a brief illness.  He was born April 22, 1953 in Bruce, Mississippi to the late parents of James Clarence “Foots” Griffin and Joyce Lee Hodge Griffin.

He was a band saw filler and worked with Fly Timber Company before retirement.  He loved his family and the outdoors and nature.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Clarence “Foots” Griffin and Joyce Lee Hodge Griffin and a brother, James Newton Griffin.

Survivors are his daughters, Stephanie Griffin (Tony) Spillman, Bogue Chitto, MS, Katina Griffin Thomas, Vicksburg, MS, Elisha (Joseph) Coker, Laurel, MS;, son, Richard Cook Jr., West Monroe, LA; sister, Dorothy Marie Vinson, Shreveport, LA; brother, Robert Griffin, Victoria, MS; grandchildren, Mary Hayes, Jazmine Cook, Abigail Cook, J.J. Thomas, Logan Thomas, Jessica Thomas, Renae (James) Dixon, Braileigh (Josh) Elee and Jack Ryan Elee, 7 great grandchildren and his special companion for 25 years, Diane Pigg, Grenada, MS, and  three nieces and one nephew to honor his memory.

A graveside memorial service will be Tuesday, November 26, 2024 at Memory Memorial Garden in Bruce beginning at 2:00P.M.
