Raymond Wayne Morgan, 88, went to his heavenly home on February 26, 2024, at the State Veterans Home in Oxford, MS.
Wayne was born on January 4, 1936 in Reid Community, MS, to Vernon Morgan and Parthenia Oliver Morgan. He proudly served his county in the United States Army. Wayne loved spending time with his grandchildren. He would take them to Joe's Market for an ice cold Yoo-Hoo, riding them on his lawnmower and take bike riding in the park. Wayne was also was very competitive he loved winning bingo games.
Those left to cherish Wayne's memories are a daughter, Amecha (Anthony) Franks of McRae, AR, three sons, Anthony Wayne (Kim) Morgan of Brandon, MS, Raymond Steve (Donna) Morgan of Pontotoc, MS, Richard Wade (Melissa) Morgan of Bruce, MS, nine grandchildren, Katelyn Mullins, Elijah Morgan, Kaleb Morgan, Morgan Kriley, Eliot Morgan, John Walker Morgan, Thomas Morgan, Destin Franks, and Hayze Franks, and seven great-grandchildren, Preston, Adaleigh, Colton, Oliver, Jazzlyn, Caroline, and Andrew.
He is preceded in death by his wife Nancy Carroll Morgan, father, Vernon Morgan, mother, Parthenia Morgan, and a brother James Rubel Morgan.
A funeral service honoring Wayne's life will be held on Thursday, at 2:00 PM at Parker Memorial Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday February 29 2024. Bro. Sam Yarbrough, Rev. Frankie Martin and Rev Kaleb Morgan will officiate the service. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM Thursday. Jordan Kriley, John Walker Morgan, Rev. Kaleb Morgan, Colby Mullins, Elijah Morgan, and Eliott Morgan will be serving as pallbearers. Michael Haire, Willie Isabell, Jr, Jason Hyde and Destin Franks will serve as honorary pallbearers. Wayne's final resting place will in Poplar Springs Cemetery.
