Rebecca Floyd Davis, 86, of Bruce departed from this life on Monday, March 08, 2021 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford. She was welcomed into this world on August 13, 1934 in Big Creek by her late parents Charles Floyd and Daisy Mosely Floyd.
Rebecca married her loving husband; Shed Hill Davis Jr. on August 26, 1951 in Grenada. This couple spent a timeless 69 years together abounding with four children and decades of memories. This loving wife and mother spent her days looking after her family and helping run Davis Gin and Farm Supply. Rebecca spent her hours of leisure gardening, researching family genealogy, and traveling. She was a lifelong member of Bruce United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women ministry.
She leaves behind a loving family to continue walking down the path of life in her absence; loving husband, Shed Hill Davis Jr of Bruce; one son, James Richmond Davis and wife Angie of Oxford, Mississippi; two daughters: Beverly Davis Turner of Bruce; Michelle Davis Schaeffer and husband Jeff of Loveland, Colorado; ten grandchildren: Patrick Davis of Birmingham, Alabama; Terrell Davis of Senatobia, Mississippi; Robert Shed Davis of Senatobia, Mississippi; Brandy Reece of Bruce, Mississippi; Amanda Pratt of Bruce, Mississippi; Joshua Reece of Bruce, Mississippi; JR Davis of Smithville, Mississippi; Chris Davis of Oxford, Mississippi; Matt Davis of Oxford, Mississippi; Hunter Kinniburgh of Fort Collins, Colorado; sixteen great grandchildren; one great great grandchild.
Rebecca was preceded in death by her parents Charles Floyd and Daisy Mosely Floyd; one son, Robert Michael Davis; one brother, Charles Floyd; two sisters: Clara Floyd Roth and Blondie Jean Floyd House.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 11, 2021 from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM at Parker Memorial Funeral Home of Bruce. The funeral service remembering Rebecca’s life will take place on Thursday, March 11, 2021 at 3:00 PM in the chapel of Parker Memorial Funeral Home with Bro. Rex Wilburn and Bro. Jeff Dalton officiating. JR Davis, Patrick Davis, Terrell Davis, Robert Davis, Chris Davis, Matt Davis, Joshua Reece, and Hunter Kinniburgh will carry her to rest in Bruce Cemetery. Dr. Bruce Longest, Bobby Lee Logan, and the members of Bruce United Methodist Church will serve as honorary pallbearers.
The staff of Parker Memorial Funeral Home is honored to serve the family and asks that you keep the family in your thoughts and prayers as they pass through this difficult season of life.
