Rebecca Louise Wright

Rebecca Louise Wright, passed away peacefully at her home on March 17, 2025, at the age of 53. Born on February 15, 1972, in Yalobusha County, Mississippi, Rebecca was a cherished member of her community and a member of the Sherman Baptist Church.

Rebecca's spirit was deeply connected to the outdoors. She found joy in riding four-wheelers, hunting, and exploring nature, where she cultivated her love for adventure. Her affection extended beyond the great outdoors to her cherished dogs and other pets, reflecting her nurturing heart and love for all living things. She also worked as a Cafeteria Worker and Bus Driver for Bruce and Coffeeville Schools.

She is survived by her husband, Doyle Dean Wright of Bruce, MS; her daughter, Morgan Vickery of Oxford, MS; and her siblings, Deborah (Dwight) Ayers of Coffeeville, MS, Judy Harwell of Coffeeville, MS, Donna (Andy) Massey of Coffeeville, MS, Danny Dorris of Banner, MS, and Dennis (Angie) Dorris of Water Valley, MS. She will also be missed by her  step-daughter, Sadeana Wright of Vardaman, MS, step-son, Adam Vickery of Grenada, MS, sisters-in-law, Ann Dorris of Water Valley, MS and Doris Tubbs of Bruce, MS, along with countless friends and family members who were touched by her kindness and love.

Rebecca was preceded in death by her father, Dalton Darrell "Buddy" Dorris, mother, Bobbie Jean Ingram Dorris, and a brother, Darrell Dorris.

Funeral services will be held on March 19, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Concord Baptist Church in Bruce, Mississippi with Bro. Craig McCormick and Bro. Freddy Buchanan officiating. where family and friends will gather to celebrate Rebecca’s life and the profound impact she made on those around her. There will be a public viewing on March 18, 2025, at Parker Memorial Funeral Home starting at 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Following the service, Rebecca will be laid to rest in a burial at Concord Cemetery. Justin Ayers, Steven Ayers, Adam Boyle, Robert Caulder, Bradley Dorris, Brandon Dorris, Michael Ingram, Cody Kelley, Brent Turner, and Adam Vickery will be serving as pallbearers.

As we remember Rebecca Louise Wright, we reflect on her warmth, her laughter, and her unwavering love for her family and the natural world that brought her so much joy. She will forever hold a special place in the hearts of all who knew her.
