Richard Dean Thacker, Sr.

Richard Thacker, 65, passed away on February 24, 2024, in Pittsboro, MS.

Richard was born on January 27, 1959, in Calhoun City, MS, to Dick Martin Thacker and Ruby Brumley Thacker. Richard was a member of Faith Baptist Church and was a Mason. He was a truck driver for Helena Chemical. In his spare time, he loved to ride horses or the wagon train, attend horse sales, hog hunting and sharpening pocket knives for his friends.

Richard is survived by a daughter, Deana (T. J. McCuller) Thacker of Pittsboro, MS; a son, Dean (Lindsey Corstange) Thacker of Water Valley, MS; two sisters, Elizabeth (Frank) Whitten of Big Creek, MS, and Jane (Tom) Wood of Tupelo, MS; a brother; Keith (Lynn) Thacker of Pittsboro, MS; and one grandchild Wade Thacker.

Richard is preceded in death by his parents: Dick Martin Thacker and Ruby Brumley Thacker, and a sister Christine Sullivan.

Visitation will be held on Monday, February 26, 2024, from 5:00 PM until 6:30 PM at Parker Memorial Funeral Home in Bruce, MS. A memorial Service will follow at 6:30 PM in the Chapel of Parker Memorial Funeral Home in Bruce, MS with Bro. James Taylor officiating.

A private burial will be held at a later date.
