Rickey Frizzell, passed away at Progressive Health of Houston on July 22, 2026, at the age of 73. Born on April 28, 1953, Ricky lived a life marked by service, dedication, and love for his family in Banner, MS.

A graduate of Charleston High School's Class of 1971, Rickey served his country honorably in the Navy during the Vietnam War. Following his military service, he continued to serve his community, first as a police officer with the Bruce Police Department for eight years, and later as a Deputy Sheriff at the Tallahatchie Sheriff's Department for a decade. He found fulfillment in his career as a mechanic, ultimately retiring from the Mississippi Department of Transportation, where his skills and work ethic were widely respected.

Rickey was also a committed member of the National Guard, serving for 20 years as a sergeant. This dedication and sense of duty defined him, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew him.

Beyond his professional achievements, Rickey cherished the time spent with his family, his sons, Brian and David Frizzell, and his grandchildren, Macey Bean and Cary Onna Baker. He enjoyed family gatherings and, in his leisure time, found joy in playing at the casino.

Family and friends will gather to honor Rickey's life on July 25, 2026. A public viewing will take place at Parker Memorial Funeral Home in Bruce at 12:00 PM, followed by a funeral service in the chapel at 2:00 PM with Bro. Robert Earl Alexander officiating. Rickey will be laid to rest in Spring Hill Cemetery in Oakland, MS, Cole Baker, Shaquille Bean, Chris Hillhouse, Boyd Russell, Josh Hughes, Bryan Roberts, and Thomas Sosa will be serving as pallbearers.

Rickey is survived by his sons, Brian Frizzell of Pittsboro, MS and David Frizzell of Pittsboro, MS; his brother, David (Patricia) Frizzell of Oakland, MS; and his cherished grandchildren, Macey Bean and Cary-Onna Baker, and seven great-grandchildren. He leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion that will continue to resonate in the hearts of those who knew him.

Rickey was preceded in death by his wife: Carmina Frizzell, father, Dewitt Frizzell, mother, Josie Marie Bowling Frizzell, a brother, Eddie Frizzell, and an infant grandchild, Rickey Brian Frizzell.
