Ricky Lynn Potts Sr.

Ricky Lynn Potts, Sr., 58, of Brookhaven, MS departed from this life on Tuesday, June 21, 2022, at St.Dominic Hospital in Jackson, MS. He was born on August 13, 1963 in Water Valley, MS to the late Alvin Newell Potts and Marveline Holland Potts.

Ricky spent many seasons of life as a truck driver traveling the highways as well as a tug boat operator spending time on the water. When Ricky wasn't working he could be found fishing. Ricky was a member of Solid Rock Pentecostal Church in Brookhaven, MS.

He leaves behind a loving family to continue walking down the path of life in his absence; two sons: Ricky Lynn (Nicole) Potts, Jr. of Brookhaven, MS; Joshua (Leea) Potts of Estill Springs, TN; daughter, Stehphanie Todd of Murphreesboro, TN; two sisters: Connie (Leon) Guthery of Henderson, AR; Trina Fortson of Brookhaven, MS; brother, Danny (Hazel) Potts of McComb, MS; three grandchildren: Joshua Newell Potts, Jr., Amelia Potts, and Javari Jackson.

Ricky was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin Newell Potts and Marveline Holland Potts.

The family will receive friends on Friday, June 24, 2022, from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Drivers Flat Baptist Church. The funeral service celebrating Ricky's life will take place on Friday, June 24, 2022, at 2:00 P.M. at Drivers Flat Baptist Church with Bro. Steve Quarles officiating. Josiah Davis, Randy Hutchinson, Ben Potts, J.G. Potts, Joshua Potts, and Ricky Lynn Potts, Jr. will carry Ricky to rest in Drivers Flat Cemetery. Leon Guthery will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
