Robert Earl Collins, 58, of Calhoun City passed from this life on Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at his home on South Main Street. Born on the spring day of March 7, 1963 in Hattiesburg, he was a son to Etta Fay Murphy Collins and the late J.W Collins.
Robert spent many seasons of his life popping chalk lines and driving nails as a carpenter. Aside from his work life, he found joy in baiting a hook and casting a line in hopes of a good day fishing on the lake. He also enjoyed the simplicity of catching the breeze while riding on his boat. Robert cherished his family, especially his children and grandchildren. Robert was a member of Derma Baptist Church where he learned about the wonders of the Lord.
He leaves behind a loving family to continue walking down the path of life in his absence; wife, Susan Lucius Collins of Calhoun City; mother, Etta Fay Murphy Collins; two sons: Douglas Wayne Collins of Bruce; Robert Earl Collins Jr. of Pittsboro; three brothers: John (Alice) Collins Pittsboro; Ray (Mary) Collins of Marion, Arkansas; Shelby (Gwen) Collins of Bruce; Athen (Connie) Collins of Calhoun City; two sisters: Juanita (Ronnie) Folks of Ellisville; Deloris (Kenneth) Kellum of Coffeeville; eight grandchildren: Dana Jackson, Warren Jackson, Layla White, Rebeccah Bowling, Loretta Collins, Kenna Collins, Corbin Bowling, and Carter Bowling.
Robert Earl was preceded in death by his father, J.W Collins; one brother, Gerald Collins; one sister, Loretta Pettit.
The family will receive friends on Friday, September 17, 2021 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Parker Memorial Funeral Home of Bruce. The graveside service remembering Robert will take place on Saturday, September 18, 2021 in Calhoun City Cemetery at 11:00 AM with Bro. David Haggerty officiating. Jason Gann, Johnny Gann, Carl Laster, Jason Laster, Brooks Lucius, and Ryan Lyda will serve as pallbearers. James Collins, Shelby Collins Jr, Kaison Parker, Dana Jackson, Warren Jackson, Aaron Vanlandingham, Rickey Vanlandingham, and Amy White will serve as honorary pallbearers.
