Robert Bryan Flemons

Robert Bryan Flemons, 66, of Big Creek, passed this earthly life, Friday, June 1, 2018 at Baptist Calhoun Health Services Hospital in Calhoun City.  He was born January 23, 1952 in Big Creek to the late parents Cecil and Linnie V. Chilcoat Flemons.  Robert was a member of Big Creek Baptist Church and a member of the Big Creek and Calhoun City Masonic Lodges.  He was a graduate of Calhoun City High School Class of 1970 and also a graduate of Northwest Mississippi Community College.  Robert was a farmer, where he carried on his family farming tradition until his retirement.  After he retired from farming, he worked at Camp McCain as an equipment operator.  Robert was a man who loved his family deeply; he was a man who enjoyed cooking for family and friends.  He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening in God’s nature.  Robert was a people person, who enjoyed telling jokes or life stories to make someone laugh.

He is survived by the love of his life, his wife, Doris Koger Flemons, Big Creek; daughters, Valerie Flemons Parker (Davin), Vardaman, Vonda Flemons Winter (Matt), Caledonia; sisters, Freddie Flemons Bond ( Tony), Eads, TN, Kay Flemons Howell ( Terry), Baytown, TX; brother, Earl Flemons (Teresa), Big Creek; seven grandchildren, Griffin Hutchins, Nora-Blake Parker, Haley Parker, Addie Parker, Holt Winter, Hank Winter and Wes Parker (Kasey). “He took great pride in supporting his grandchildren in all activities in which they participated."

Robert’s family will receive friends, Sunday, June 3, 2018 from 12:00 P.M. till 3:00 P.M. at Parker Memorial Funeral Home in Bruce.  The funeral service will follow at 3:00 P.M. in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Jimmy Vance officiating.  Burial will be in Chapel Hill Cemetery, Big Creek.

Pallbearers will be Kenny Clanton, Kelby Flemons, Kevin Flemons. Griffin Hutchins, Gary Parker, Toby Parker, Tyler Parker, and Wes Parker.
