Robert Arnold Gulledge

Mr. Robert Arnold Gulledge age 88 died August 26, 2014 at Bruce Community Living Center. He was born June 28, 1926 at Big Creek, Mississippi. He is survived by his wife of fifty nine years Allie Collins Gulledge of Bruce, Mississippi. Two sisters Claudia Mooneyham of Calhoun City, Mississippi and Charlene Carna of California. A son-in-law Mike Nix and a daughter-in-law Diane Costin. He also has nine grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents Charles and Myrtle Carter Gulledge,
a sister Lillian Barbee, a daughter Barbara Nix, a son Marvin Costin and a grandson Jeff Nix.
Mr. Gulledge was a member of Bruce First Baptist Church, a WWII Navy veteran serving on the US Monterrey battleship. He was a former Mason.
He formerly worked for Standard Oil Company before going to work for Weyhaeuser and retiring from Weyhaeuser.
Mr. Arnold had a very creative mind and a avid welder.
He learned to respect the ocean and its waters while serving in the Navy.
Visitation will be Friday, August 29, 2014 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00P.M. and the funeral will be on Saturday, August 30, 2014 at 11:00A.M. at the Parker Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Daniel Hathorne officiating. Burial will follow in Bruce Cemetery.
