Listen to Obituary

Robert Sheldon Langston, II, 25, of Derma, departed from this life on Saturday, May 28, 2022, at his home in Derma. He was welcomed into this world on November 19, 1996, in Tupelo, Mississippi by his parents Robert Sheldon Langston and Dina Tedder Reeves.

Robert was a 2015 graduate of Calhoun Academy and a member of the 2012 cougar state champion football team. Upon graduation, this larger-than-life guy enrolled in the school of life and began farming alongside his father at Langston Farm LLC. Aside from cultivating crops and driving tractors, he owned and operated his own trucking company, Langston Trucking LLC, which was his pride and joy. Aside from his love for shifting gears and letting the jake brakes rumble, Family was everything to Robert and this love could be evidenced by his relationships with his two sisters often referred to as the “Langston Trio” where he served as the protector in chief. Robert knew how to fight hard, but he loved even harder.  Later in life, he was fortunate enough to have two brothers added to his family. Robert loved spending time and bonding with them over racing trucks and outdoor activities. Like most young men Robert enjoyed spending quality time with his closest friends, and he was often the life of the party because of that contagious laugh and smile he possessed. You could often find him riding four-wheelers or living life on the lake with his crew. Equally important, he had many passions that brought him joy whenever he found the time to give them attention. As an outdoorsman, Robert not only enjoyed the serenity of a quiet trip in the woods deer hunting but also the exhilaration found in turkey hunting. He also managed to find his way into the gym, a place where the competition for the largest bicep was fierce and he was in the lead.  Robert attended Derma Baptist Church where he learned about the wonders of the Lord. Though he left this world too soon, he will be remembered for those big blue eyes and magnetic personality.
