Robert Stone

Banner, MS – Robert Earl Stone, 77, passed away Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born September 17, 1940 in the Pleasant Grove Community in Bruce. Robert was a retired truck driver with Maverick Transport. He enjoyed seeing America and its beauty from the cab of his truck while driving across the country. Robert loved his family, friends and his extended family at Banner Baptist Church where his faith in God grew being a servant to others. He loved gardening, growing vegetables and watermelons to share with family and friends. He was especially fond of old tractors and equipment.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lester Lee Stone and Earline Goodson Stone and two sisters, Martha Mayhan and Sundra Franklin.

Those left to honor his memory are his wife of 59 years, Cathy Peeples Stone, Banner, MS; two daughters, Gwen Mann “Paul”, Banner, MS, Pamela Mize “Joe”, Water Valley, MS, two sons, Robert Bradley Stone, Oxford, MS, Allen Stone “Andy”, Oxford, MS; seven grandchildren, Renee Geoghegan, Bradley Edwards, Garrett Stone, Connor Stone, Dustin Williamson, Lee Soden and Summer Moudy and 10 Great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Wednesday, December 27, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be Thursday, December 28, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Parker Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Darrell Logan and Bro. Benny Hill officiating. Burial will be in Providence Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Bradley Edwards, Roy Geoghegan, Paul Mann, Timmy Mayhan, Quiton Mayhan, Ricky Murphree, Lee Soden and Connor Stone. Honorary pallbearers are Bill Cofer, Tommy Cutris, Thomas Ferguson, David Goodson, Earnest Goodson, Thomas Earl Goodson, Joe Mize, Wayne Little, Donny Peeples, Ricky Peeples, Lee Soden, Garrett Stone and Dustin Williamson.
