Roger William Stone, 57, of Calhoun City, MS, departed from this life on Tuesday, August 29, 2023, at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson, MS. He was born on October 14, 1965, in Bruce to the late Jesse Stone and Willie Bernice Chaney Stone.
Roger spent his days working in a furniture factory. In his spare time, Roger could be fishing, hunting squirrels, or working in his yard. He loved music and most of all he loved his family.
He leaves behind his wife, Rebecca Lynn Ellis Stone of Calhoun City; two daughters: Jessica Watts Phillips of Vardaman; Savanna Paige (Zack) of Vardaman; three sons: Roger Stone Jr. of Calhoun City; Alan (Hailey) Stone of Calhoun City; Hunter (Haley) Stone of Calhoun City; four brothers: Jesse Rufus (Anita) Stone of Calhoun City; Norman Dennis (Teresa) Stone of Bruce; Cecil Clifton (Jessica) Stone of Bruce; Willie Darrin Stone of Pittsboro; nine grandchildren: Brooklynn Watts, Jenny Stone, Caleb Watts, Elizabeth Watts, Bentley Irby, Harlen Stone, Camden Irby, Presley Wilkerson, Willow Wilkerson.
Roger is preceded in death by his parents, Jesse Stone and Willie Bernice Chaney Stone; brother, Alan Stone; grandparents: Edna and Cecil Stone; Annie Mae and Frank Fisk; niece, Katie Grace Stone.
The family will receive friends on Friday, September 01, 2023, from 2:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. at Derma Baptist Church. The service honoring Roger's life will take place on Frdiay, September 01, 2023, at 4:00 P.M. at Derma Baptist Church with Bro. Billy Miller officiating. Athen Collins, Allen Fisk, Larry Galloway, Brett Hamilton, Haylon Hamilton, and Jeremy Oliver will carry Roger to rest in Mt. Comfort Cemetery in Bruce, MS. Bryce Fleming, Dion Miller, and Matthew Stone will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Memorial donations may be made in Rogers name to Parker Memorial Funeral Home: P.O. Box 458 Bruce, MS 38915 to help with funeral expenses.
