Roy L. Gregory, 80, of Pittsboro, departed from this life on Saturday, October 8, 2022 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford, MS. He was born on March 17, 1942 in Rocky Mount to the late Lewis S. Gregory and Lizzy Mae Hamblin Gregory.
Roy spent many seasons of life working at United Chair until his retirement. He enjoyed spending time with his family, horses, horse back riding, fishing, gardening and singing. Roy was a member of Rocky Mount Baptist Church.
Roy was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis S. Gregory and Lizzy Mae Hamblin Gregory; two sisters: Rose Etta Murphree and Flow Ella Rogers; three brothers: Troy E. Gregory, Larry W. Gregory, and Paul D. Gregory.
He leaves behind a loving family to continue walking down the path of life in his absence: wife, Shirley Coullums Gregory of Pittsboro; two daughters: Terrie (Jerry) Graham of Pittsboro, MS; Tammie (Michael) Cook of Pittsboro, MS; sister, Lola Frances (Pete) McGee of Meridian, MS; brother, Lader (Jane) Gregory of Pittsboro, MS; six grandchildren: Brandy (Marsahll) Box, Brian Stewart, Terra Shelby) Collins, Adam Graham, Colby Cook and Micah Cook; five great grandchildren: Levi Stewart, Cale Box, Kinley Box, Hunter Collins and Hayden Collins; a special child, Riley Booth.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 9, 2022 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Parker Memorial Funeral Home in Bruce. The funeral service celebrating Roy’s life will take place on Monday, October 10, 2022 at 3:00 PM in the chapel of Parker Memorial Funeral Home with Bro. James Taylor, Bro. Sam Yarbrough, and Bro. Pete Gregory officiating. Marshall Box, Colby Cook, Michael Graham, Jeff Haire, Fred Parker and Keith Parker will carry Roy to rest in Rocky Mount Cemetery. Dewayne Collums, Charles Duke, Dwayne Duke, Clay Gregory, Kevin Gregory, Stacy Gregory and the members of Rocky Mount Baptist Church will serve as honorary pallbearers.
