Ruby Meril Green

Ruby Meril Green, 84, of Calhoun City formally Bruce, departed from this life on Tuesday, January 17, 2023, at Baptist Calhoun Nursing Home in Calhoun City. She was born on November 06, 1938, in Bruce to the late Luster Alvin Hill and Ruby Pearl Hill.

Meril was a homemaker that spent her days looking after the needs of her family. In her spare time, she could be found in the kitchen canning vegetables from her garden and cooking. Meril loved singing and quilting. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.

Meril leaves behind a loving family to continue walking down the path of life in her absence, six sisters: Lucille Potts of Paris; Louise (Freddie) Buchanan of Bruce; Pat (Robert) Melton of Bruce; Margaret (Kent) Dye of Calhoun City; Kaye Hill of Bruce; Diane (Gary) Glover of Perkins, MO; three brothers: Gene (Bobbie) Hill of Coffeeville; Earl (Emogene) Hill of Rossville, TN; Roy Hill of Hamilton, MS; sister in-law, Marie Hill of Coffeeville. She also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Luster Alvin Hill and Ruby Pearl Hill; sister, Francis Marie Barefield; brother, John Thomas Hill.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 19, 2023 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Parker Memorial Funeral Home in Bruce, MS. The funeral service honoring Meril's life will take place on Thursday, January 19, 2023 at 1:00 PM in the chapel of Parker Memorial Funeral Home in Bruce with Bro. Billy Hill and Bro. James Taylor officiating. Matthew Bardo, Jeremiah Dunn, Jeremy Hill, Brad Melton, Ken Potts, and Steve Quarles will carry Meril to rest in Bruce Cemetery.
