Ruby Maxine "Maxine" Spratlin, 86, passed away on July 27, 2021, at the North Ms Medical Center Hospice Care unit in Tupelo, MS.
She was born on July 20, 1935, in Reid, MS, to Jim Murphree and Vivian Murphree.
Maxine married Bobbie Spratlin on April 20, 1953, at Poplar Springs Church. The couple had two children: Karen Parker, of Vardaman and Stacy Spratlin of Houston.
Maxine was best known for passionately devoting her time to church, cooking for loved ones, spending time with her family and friends, and working in the garden. Affectionately nicknamed "Go" by her family because she was always ready to go somewhere, she loved being active in her community.
Maxine is survived by her husband, Bobbie Spratlin; a daughter, Karen (Jerry) Parker of Vardaman,MS, a son, Stacy Spratlin (Marcia) of Houston, MS, six grandchildren: Bradford Parker (Mary Ann) of Hernando, MS, Milette Russell (Mitchell) of Mantee, MS, Jon Parker (Melissa) of Pontotoc, Karmen Dendy (Miller) of Houston, MS, Jenna Spratlin of Houston, MS, and Connor Spratlin of Houston, MS; six great-grandchildren: Stephen Parker of Hernando, MS, Zoey Crowley of Mantee, MS, Zane Crowley of Mantee, MS, Luke Parker of Pontotoc, MS, Avery Russell of Mantee, MS, Logan Parker of Pontotoc, MS, and Kipton Dendy of Houston, MS. She also is survived by two sisters: Marjorie Collier of Helena, AL, and Barbara Lafayette of Calhoun City; and four brothers: Sterlin Murphree (Brenda) of Vardaman, MS, Travis Murphree (Kathy) of Lucedale, MS, Jimmy Murphree (Carol) of Russellville, AL, and Jerry Murphree (Valda) of Pittsboro, MS.
Maxine is preceded in death by both parents: Jim and Vivian Murphree, and two brothers: Sid Murphree and Kenneth Murphree.
The visitation and service for Mrs Ruby Maxine Spratlin will be held on Thursday, July 29, 2021, at the New Liberty Baptist Church in Calhoun County at 2:00P.M. Visitation will be from 12:00 P.M. until service time at 2:00 P.M. Bro. Jeff Harmon and Bro. Robert Earl Alexander will be officiating.
Burial: New Liberty Cemetery, Calhoun City, MS. Pallbearers will be Austin Albertson, Reid Jones, Colby Lafayette, Toby Lafayette, Colin Hastings, Stephen Parker and Connor Spratlin.
Memorial donations can be made in Maxine's name to the New Liberty Church.
