Rueben Wrenna Byars, 83 of Vardaman, Mississippi passed away on Thursday, September 22, 2016, at his home in
Vardaman, Mississippi.
Born Saturday, November 19, 1932, he was the son of the late Odie B.  Byars and the late Grace Griffin  Byars.
He was a retired supervisor for the Town of Vardaman Maintanance Department.
He served as a Pvt in the Army. He was a Veteran of  Korea.
He was a member of Vardaman First United Methodist Church, Community minded Mr. Rueben was a member of the
Vardaman Volunteer Fire Department where he served as Chief. He served on the Board of Alderman for the town of
Vardaman for twelve years, He was a member of Woodmen Of The World, The American Legion, and a avid Ole Miss Fan.
Surviving are his wife of 61 years Anna Spencer Byars, daughter, Teresa Byars of Vardaman, MS. grandchildren, Roxianne
Jenkins, Ashley Jordan, Joe Eric Byars, and Cejay Ray, 6 Great Grandchildren
He was predeceased by son, Kenneth Byars, brother, Charles Byars.
A Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Saturday at Vardaman United Methodist Church with Rev. Harold Robinson
officiating and Rev Allen Hall assisting. Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Vardaman, MS.
Pallbearers will be: Joe Eric Byars, Jessie Chrestman, Jimmy Clark, Larry Clark, David Dees, and Matt Jenkins.
Honorary Palbearers will be: Ira Berry, Glenda Chrestman, Freddy Edmundson, Wilbur Holmes, Jerry McClain, Bruce Price,
and Larria Riefers.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM on Saturday, September 24, 2016, at Vardaman First United
Methodist Church, , Vardaman, Mississippi.
