Sadie Mae Gulledge

Sadie Mae McInnis Gulledge, 79, of Calhoun City departed from this life on Wednesday, February 08, 2023 at her home in Calhoun City. She was born on November 27, 1943 in Bruce to the late Winford Aaron McInnis, Sr. and Ida Mae Nichols McInnis.

Sadie was a self-employed seamstress and worked at Hillcrest Hospital in the 1980's. Sadie also worked at WJRL Radio in the 1970's. When she wasn't sewing or crocheting, she could be found doing arts and crafts, listening to music and dancing. Sadie loved to sing, and she loved animals. She was a part of Bruce Band Parents Booster Club in the 1980's. She was a member of Pittsboro Baptist Church and led youth Bible Drills for several years.

She leaves behind a loving family to continue walking down the path of life in her absence; daughter, Rachel Suzanne Gulledge (Steve Ingle) of Calhoun City; son, James Franklin (Melanie) Gulledge, Jr. of Madison, MS; sister, Judy C. Moxon of Enterprise, OK; four grandchildren: Stephanie (Landon) Adams, Cale Ingle, Noah Gulledge, and Abram Gulledge; two great-grandchildren: Aria James Adams and Sawyer Hayes Adams.

Sadie is preceded in death by her parents, Winford Aaron McInnis, Sr. and Ida Mae McInnis; husband, James Franklin Gulledge, Sr.; son, Christopher Joseph Gulledge, Sr; sister, Emma Della McInnis; brother, Rev. Winford Aaron McInnis, Jr.

The family will receive friends on Friday, February 10, 2022, from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Parker Memorial Funeral Home in Bruce. The funeral service celebrating her life will take place on Friday, February 10, 2023, at 2:00 PM, with Bro. Vincent Anderson officiating. Landon Adams, Jimmy Franklin, Frankie Gulledge, Marshall Hill, Steve Ingle, and Bill Malone will carry Sadie to rest in Pittsboro Cemetery.
