Sarah Evelyn Stacks Edwards was born to the late Thomas Jefferson Stacks and Evelyn Bedford Stacks on August 20, 1951, in Fort Sill, Oklahoma. She graduated from Sandwich High School in 1969 and attended Blue Mountain College in Blue Mountain, Mississippi. Sarah married the love of her life, Larry Edwards on May 30, 1971. They were blessed with 3 children: Gabe, Amy, and Tom. She died on March 7, 2024.
After Larry was called to the ministry, the family lived in Holcomb, MS, Coila, MS, Gardiner, MT, Tchula, MS, and Bentonia, MS. They welcomed their first grandchild in 1999 and became “Pop and Gran”. Gran enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, working in the garden and crafting. Sarah worked for the Davidson family at Southland Flying Service for 25 years.
Sarah was preceded in death by her parents Tom and Evelyn Stacks and brother Bob Stacks.
She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Larry Edwards, of Bentonia, MS; daughter Amy Waldrop (Johnny) of Canton, MS; sons Gabe
Edwards (Bethany), of Learned, MS; and Tom Edwards (Jamie), of Clinton, MS; grandchildren: Madelyn Alford (JP), Will Waldrop (Mary Turner),
Jackson Haney, Leland Edwards, Caleb Edwards, Abbey Edwards, Molly Edwards, and Elsie Edwards; great granddaughter Ava Kate Chenhall; sister, Nancy Dahm, of Somonauk, IL; and brothers: Mike Stacks (Debb), of Indianapolis, IN; Roger Stacks, of Somonauk, IL; and Jeffrey Stacks (Lynn), of Beloit, WI.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 10, 2024, from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church Tchula, MS, with the funeral service immediately following at 11:00 AM. A private burial will be held in Calvary Cemetery, Bruce, MS.
