Larry Scott Starks ,52, of Bruce departed from this life on Thursday, February 25, 2021 at University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson after an extended illness. Born on July 29, 1968 in Tupleo, Scott was a son to Larry Joe Starks and the late Penny Baker Starks.
Scott was a 1986 graduate of Bruce High School. Shortly after graduating high school he joined the workforce by landing a job with the Weyerhauser Corporation. After many years milling lumber Scott departed from the mill and join his father-in-law ,Larry Joe James, at James Heating Cooling as an HVAC technician. He later transitioned into the shipping and loading department at Haworth, a job he held until his passing. When this hard working man wasn't punching the clock he could found in the great outdoors hunting not only deer but also dove. He also found joy in a relaxing day out on the water fishing. Scott married the love of his life, Julie James, on July 01, 1995. The couple spent a quarter of a century together and gave life to two children wrapped in an immeasurable amount of memories. Scott was a member of Pittsboro Baptist Church, a place where learned about the many marvelous wonders of Lord.
He leaves behind a loving family to continue walking down the path of life wife, Julie James Stark; one son, Connor Starks of Bruce ;one daughter, Karman Starks of Bruce; father, Larry Joe Starks of Pittsboro; one sister, Angela Starks of Pittsboro; nieces; Heather (Stephen) Garcia of Banner and Taylor Castleberry, Portland, OR; great niece and nephew, Arizona and Maverick Garcia of Banner.
Scott was preceded in death by his mother, Penny Baker Starks; paternal grandparents, Rheasa and Mary Lou Starks; maternal grandparents, Wenfred and Lavonia Baker
Winnon Clark, Scott Cook, Davy Doss, Tony Easley, Bill Malone, and Chris McGregor will carry Scott to rest in Pittsboro Cemetery. Douglas Bullard, Wade Clark, Jerry James, Nick James, and Tyler James will serve as honorary pallbearers.
