Shirley Ann Chaney

Shirley Ann Chaney, 71, passed away Sunday, July 23, 2017 at Baptist Memorial  Hospital N. MS. She was born October 11, 1945 in Red Bay Alabama to the late parents of James Earl and Lolor Mae Howell Pendergraph. Shirley had been in the nursing home at Calhoun City for several years where the nursing home had become her home. The staff and nursing home had become her extended family where they took extremely good care of her needs and especially Sylvia Johnson, the social worker at the facility.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Wayne and James Pendergraph and one sister, Betty Maxwell.
Survivors include three sons; Michael (Mamie) Chaney, Bruce, MS, Edward Chaney, Houlka, MS, Billy Chaney, Bruce and one daughter; Linda (Steve) Ard, Guntown, MS, two sisters; Emma (Rois) Shook, Baldwin, MS , Mary (Dale) Woodruff, Booneville, MS, three grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Tuesday, July 25, 2017 from 11:00 A.M. to service time at 1:30 P.M. at the funeral home chapel in Bruce. Bro. Robert Earl Alexander will be officiating in the service with burial to follow in Mt. Comfort Cemetery. Pallbearers are B.J. Duke, Jamie Duke, Chris Pendergraph, J.J. Pendergraph, Joseph Shields and Charles White. Honorary pallbearers will be her nephews.
