Shirley Harris

Houlka, MS - Shirley Ann Harris, 72, passed away Thursday, March 8, 2018 suddenly after a motor vehicle accident. She was born August 10, 1945 in Blytheville, Arkansas to the late parents of William and Nina Marie Neal Fitzgerald. Shirley provided for her family as a sweet potato farm worker, house keeper for the nursing home in Bruce and a homemaker. She was a loving devoted mother and grandmother. Her greatest joy in life was being with her family and especially her grandchildren. She loved to fish, work in the garden and go to yard sales. Shirley attended St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Bruce. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Jessie Lamar Harris, a daughter, Carolyn Harris, a son, Jimmy Lamar Harris, sisters, Nellie Dye and Hazel Whitt, and a brother, Jerry Fitzgerald.

Those left to honor her memory are her daughters, Charlotte Sosa (Shorty), Bruce, MS, Dorothy Herman (Ricky), Houlka, MS, Mary Seale (Travis), Brookhaven, MS, Brenda Newman (Kenneth) Brooklyn, AR: sister, Brenda Manier (Chris), MI: brothers, James Fitzgerald, Holland, MI, Bob, Larry and Gary Fitzgerald all of AR; 15 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Saturday, March 10, 2018 from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home in Bruce.

Funeral services will be Sunday, March 11, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. at Parker Memorial Funeral Home with Bro. Robert Earl Alexander officiating. Burial will follow in New Liberty Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Drew Hill, Joseph Hopkins, Drew Moore, Thomas Newman, Luis Sosa, and Thomas Sosa. Honorary pallbearers are Emanuel Sosa Camargo, Enrique Sosa, and Eric Sosa.
