Stanford Wayne Gandy, 81, of Paris Mississippi passed away on Saturday, October 28, 2023. He was born April 29, 1942, in Paris, Mississippi to Bill and Hettie Gandy.
Stanford worked as a farmer and logger all of his life with people all over North Mississippi. He worked his entire life and farmed full time after retiring from the logging business. He enjoyed watching things grow, and nothing gave him more joy than working with his family on the farm raising food for his family and others. At 81, he still went to the farm to work every day, with his dog Buddy, as he said there was always something that needed to be done.
Stanford loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was a member of the Eastern Star and was a Mason at the Bruce Lodge. He could often be found drinking coffee at the Paris store and was considered the unofficial mayor of Paris.
Stanford is survived by his wife of sixty-three years Ruth Gandy of Paris, MS; His daughters: Renae Hunt (Clay) of Paris, MS, Angela Hall (Mark) of Nesbit, MS, and Vicki Wright (Alan) of Paris, MS. Stanford has five grandchildren whom he loved very much and with whom he spent as much time as he could: Jeremy Crawford, Alayna Adams, Gavin Wright, Fischer Wright, and Finley Wright. He is preceded in death by his parents and many siblings, as he was the youngest of twelve children.
Visitations will be held on Monday, October 30, 2023, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Parker Memorial Funeral Home in Bruce, MS and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday. The funeral service will be held at Parker Memorial Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, October 31, 2023, at 1:00 PM. with Bro. Tim Sockwell officiating. Burial will be at a private cemetery with family at a later date.
