Pittsboro, MS-Stanley Ray Byars, 79, passed away Sunday, December 23, 2018 at Baptist Memorial Hospital, Oxford after an extended illness. He was born June 13, 1939 in Pittsboro to the late Shed Hill Byars and Edna Rae Pitts Byars. He was a retired trucker having his own trucking business. He was a member of Pittsboro Baptist Church. Stanley was a man that loved his family dearly and his friends he made along the way on this journey of life.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Donnie Wayne Byars, sisters, Prentiss Ann Tallent, Edna Joyce Byars, Mildred Lee Byars, sister-in-laws, Sandra Byars and Christa Byars.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 59 years, Betty Jo Mahan Byars, Pittsboro; daughter, Rhonda Byars Harrison, Pittsboro; son, Mitchell Wade (Jennifer) Byars, Carrollton; sister, Deborah Jo (Wade) Burt, Houlka; brothers, Raleigh Hill Byars, Oxford, Robert Eastland Byars, Calhoun City, Ricky Paul (Cheryl) Byars, Tupelo; grandchildren, Mitchell Klint Byars, Chelsea Dayan Anderson, Ryan Craig Killough, Torie Terry Costilow, Tabitha Alyse Byars and 4 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Wednesday, December 26, 2018 at Parker Memorial Funeral Home from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM. Graveside service will be at 2:00 PM Wednesday at Mt. Moriah Cemetery with Bro. Vince Anderson officiating.
Pallbearers will be Klint Byars, Trevor Costilow, B.J. Farmer, Mitchell Killough, Ryan Killough, Scott Norman, Gary Schmitz and Ricky Wilson.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to your church or a charity of choice.
