Steve Aubrey Nelson

Steve Aubrey Nelson, 69, passed away on September 5, 2021, at his home in Bruce, MS.

Steve was born on August 16, 1952, in Blytheville, AR, to Cecil Nelson and Alice Faye Temple Nelson. Steve spent 25 plus years working as a millwright at Weyerhaeuser Corporation in Bruce. He also served the city of Bruce as an alderman and was a Mason at Antioch Lodge. Steve was a member and deacon at FBC, Bruce. He was also a very devoted Arkansas Razorback fan.

Steve married Penny Baughman Nelson in 1976 and to this marriage the couple had 2 children, Mark and Buddy Nelson.

Steve is survived by his wife Penny Nelson of Bruce, MS; sons Mark (Dixie) Nelson of Pontotoc, MS and Buddy (Jennifer) Nelson of Pittsboro, MS; brother Ricky Nelson of Steele, MO; grandchildren: Hillary Alexander, Lane Nelson, Jake Nelson, Summer Nelson, Aubrey Nelson, and Patton Nelson; and 5 great-grandchildren.

Steve is preceded in death by his parents Cecil and Alice Nelson.

Visitation for Steve will be Wednesday, September 8, 2021, at Parker Memorial Funeral Home in Bruce from 5:00 PM -7:00 PM. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, September 9, 2021, at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Parker Memorial Funeral Home, Bruce with Bro. Ryan Reed, Bro. Darrell Logan and Dr. Daniel Hawthorne officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Memorial Garden. Casey Clark, Sput Deaton, Jimmy Hubbard, Miles Jeffery, Trent Long, Brian Maddox, Larry Moore, and Johnny Norwood will serve as pallbearers and Dr. Bruce Longest and Joey Shaw are honorary pallbearers.
