The Honorable Patricia Sims

The Honorable Patricia Daniel Sims, 73, of Oxford and Shallowater, TX, departed from this life on Sunday, November 12, 2023, in Pontotoc, MS. She was born on March 21, 1950, in Bruce, MS, to the late Ovee Daniel and Odein Ingram Daniel.

The Honorable Patricia Sims was a teacher at Bruce High School in her early years. She later attended law school and obtained a Juris Doctor Degree. Patricia was a former Assistant District Attorney and former County Court Judge in Cleveland, MS. In her free time, she enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family, cooking and making Christmas stockings for all of her family, traveling with her husband, and watching her grandkids at sporting events and Recitals.

She leaves behind her husband, The Honorable M. Kent Sims of Oxford and Shallowater, TX; son, Ryan (Sara) Beckett of Jackson; daughter, Ashley (Jarrod) Stewart of Oxford; two stepdaughters: Anissa (Adrian) Briseno; Angelique (Hadly) Weaver; two sisters: Jeweldean (James) Roberts of Liberty, MS; Ernestine (James Bailey) Caviness of Calhoun City. 14 grandchildren: Taylor McElhenny, Tucker Beckett, Nathan Soliz, Tannor Jeffcoat, Tucker Stewart, Huston Briseno, Hutson Briseno, Brodie Stewart, Thomas Beckett, Brady Weaver, Katie Soliz, Riley Weaver, Eliza Beckett, and Allie Soliz: sister-in-law, Carolyn (Jim) Jolly, She also leaves behind her two dogs: Bitzy and Bella.

The Honorable Patricia Sims is preceded in death by her parents, Ovee Daniel, and Odein Ingram Daniel; husband, Robert Rodney Beckett, Sr., son, Robby Beckett; sister, Wanda Hurst; son-in-law, Paul Soliz, sister-in-law, Joyce Haddox, and a brother-in-law, Dean Sims.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 16, 2023, from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Parker Memorial Funeral Home of Bruce. The funeral service celebrating her life will take place on Thursday, November 16, 2023, at 11:00 AM with Bro. Darrell Logan and Rev. Karen Chraska officiating. Patricia's grandchildren will serve as pallbearers:Taylor McElhenny, Tucker Beckett, Nathan Soliz, Tannor Jeffcoat, Tucker Stewart, Huston Briseno, Hutson Briseno, Brodie Stewart, Thomas Beckett, and Brady Weaver.
