Thomas Gale Smith, Jr.

Banner, MS-Thomas Gale Smith, Jr., 66, passed away peacefully at his residence, Monday, November 27, 2017. He was born in Calhoun City, January 19, 1951. Thomas was a graduate of Bruce High School, Class of 1970, Northwest Community College and Delta State University where he received his B.S. degree in history and a master’s degree in educational administration. He served his country in the U.S. Army until he had to take a medical leave. Thomas was a member of Banner Baptist Church and a avid football and sports fan, he loved talking about sports and ball with his morning coffee drinkers at Joe’s Market.

He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Gale Smith, Sr..

Those left to honor his memory are his mother, Marjorie Ann Riddle Smith, Banner, MS; a sister, Betty Sue “Susie” Kopf “Jim”, Ridgeland, MS; two brothers, George Herman Smith “ Jo Ann”, Counce, TN and John Burton Smith “Nancy”, Vicksburg, MS and a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Monday, December 4, 2017 from 1:00 P.M. until service time at 2:00 P.M. at Parke Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Darrell Logan, officiating and burial to follow in Bruce Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Danny Baker, Dennis Baker, Edwin Baker, Randy Baker, Ted Camp and Thomas Camp.
