Timothy Eugene “Tim” Lunceford, 78, passed this earthly life on Saturday, September 14, 2024, suddenly at his home. He was born in Houston, MS, on August 10, 1946, to the late Jasper Aycock and Mavis Allday Lunceford.
Tim was a graduate of Calhoun City High School class of 1964. After graduation from high school, he served his country by serving in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. He worked with TDS Telephone and Communications as a service technician and worked his way up in the company to become the general manager of the Calhoun City office. He was dedicated to his work and the people he served in the telecommunications industry. He was a member of Calhoun City First Baptist Church. Tim studied the word of Christ by reading his Bible daily to gain knowledge, strength, and a closer walk with the Lord. Tim also loved to read novels and newspapers in his spare time. He was an avid Mississippi State Sports fan where he had previously attended school. He was truly a supporter of the football program but also followed all their sports. He loved the outdoors and nature in his younger years by hunting and fishing in his favorite spots. Tim will be dearly missed by his community and family as he invested in everyone he encountered.
Those left to cherish Tim’s memory are his wife Vicki Gulledge Lunceford, of Calhoun City, MS; daughter Amy Lunceford, of Pensacola, FL; sister Roma Helms (late T.J.), of Russellville, AR; nieces Julia (George Kent) Bingham, of Slate Springs, MS and Mona (Wayne) Russell, of Russellville, AR, and a host of great nieces and nephews.
A memorial service honoring Tim’s life will be Saturday, September 21, 2024, at Parker Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Bruce beginning at 11:00 AM with Bro. Jimmy Vance officiating.
Parker Memorial Funeral Home is grateful for the honor of serving the Lunceford family during this difficult season of life.
