Tommy L. James, Jr.

Tommy Laderl James, Jr., 56, passed away on Tuesday, June 29, 2021, after a brief illness at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford.  He was born February 14, 1965, in Houston to the late parents Tommy Laderl James, Sr. and Ina B. Haire James.

Tommy was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church.  He was a graduate of Calhoun Academy class of 1983.  He was a farmer employed at Alexander Farms.  Tommy was a Jack of All Trades. He enjoyed making things work and figuring out how things worked.  He loved his family and especially the joy his grandchildren gave him.

He was preceded in death by his parents Tommy Laderl James, Sr., and Ina B. Haire James.

He is survived by:  his wife Oralia Montano James, of Houlka; daughters Courtney James and Mary Alon James both of Bruce; sister Linda J. (Tod) Eaton, of Bruce; grandchildren: Joey Moss and Georgia Moss.

Visitation will be Wednesday, June 30, 2021, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Parker Memorial Funeral Home, Vardaman Chapel. The family will receive friends prior to the funeral Thursday, July 1, 2021, from 2:00 PM until funeral time at 4:00 PM at Poplar Springs Baptist Church. A funeral service honoring Tommy’s life will begin at 4:00 PM. Bro. David Haggerty will be officiating.  Pallbearers will be Oakley Cole Alexander, Larry Barefield, John Coleman, Pat James, Thomas Moore, Eber Palacios, Jesus Palacios, Ernesto Rodriguez, J.T. Tedder, and James Tutor.
