Tommy Wayne Reid, 71, of Coffeeville passed from this life on Wednesday, December 15, 2021, at his home. Born on October 13, 1950, in Bruce, he was a son to the late Wayne Gaylon Reid and Tula Mae Doss Reid.
Tommy was educated at the University of Mississippi where he not only obtained a bachelor’s degree but also a degree only life could offer. As an avid Ole Miss fan, he loved watching every sport they played from basketball to football and underwater basket weaving if they had a team. Aside from his larger-than-life personality, Tommy enjoyed the outdoors and loved the solitude of watching the sunrise and sunset. He could often be found tending to his chickens or giving his beloved dogs special attention. Above all things, Tommy was best known for being a loving father to his children and a loving Pop to his grandchildren. He was a member of Clear Springs Baptist Church where learned about the character of his Savior.
Tommy leaves behind a loving family to continue walking down the path of life in his absence: wife Jeannie Massey Reid of Coffeeville; one son Joshua (Shannon) Moore of Coffeeville; two daughters: Stacy (Trea) Magee of Water Valley and Jessica (Cody) Jones of Coffeeville; one brother Andy (Amy) Reid of Bruce; one sister Judy Carol Burgess of Houlka; six grandchildren: Lacey (Ethan) Waldrip, Jacob (Brianna) Magee, Judd Magee, Jackson Moore, Madelyn Jones, and Kaleb Moore; six great grandchildren: Austin, Braysen, Emma, Addison, Brannley, and Mia Rose.
He was preceded in death by his parents Wayne Gaylon Reid and Tula Mae Doss Reid and one sister Brenda Kathleen Reid Ruth.
